The leaves have all begun to change colors and many are already on the ground, as I drive around I see pumpkins and mums on everyone’s doorsteps, fall is definitely here! This is probably my favorite season, the crispness of the air and scents of apple, pumpkin and cinnamon fill the air while hayrides and corn mazes keep the kids busy. I’m just about finished with the boy’s Halloween costumes, I cheated a little and bought a few things but I think they’re both happy with their outfits and can’t wait for the parades and trick-or treating! My older son decided to be the grim reaper while my younger one is being a Minion, two completely different stages of life. Poor Ethan was afraid of the mask that went along with Drew’s costume but thankfully Drew doesn’t want to wear the mask so at least he won’t be giving his younger brother nightmares!
With the temperatures dropping I’ve also been hard at work completing many custom orders in my Etsy shop. If you need something by Halloween please make sure you get your orders in ASAP, message me if you’re concerned about time as I may be working on other items when you make your purchase. I’m hoping to get a few more items added to my shop before the holiday season but those almost complete projects keep getting pushed to the back-burner for now. Just keep watching my shop for anything new.
I also just finished up another mural this past weekend, it was a 6’ tall Pete the Penguin (YSU mascot). It was in a narrow hallway so this was all freehanded right onto the wall. I seem to forget how much I love drawing large images and holding a brush in my hand until these random projects come up and then I fall back in love. Now I’m really brainstorming to make my son’s mural come to life in his reading nook, can’t wait to start that project. Here are a few progress pics and completed Pete the Penguin from this weekend.
