Only a few days remain of 2016, as I reflect on the year past I find myself creating new goals to accomplish in the coming year.
There were many accomplishments and a lot of growth. Half of the fun is going with the flow to see what arises and some of the things that occurred over the course of a year surprised me and has warranted me to move things around on my priority list for 2017.
Of course, I wasn’t able to accomplish everything on my to-do list for last year but I believe that’s a part of having these goal setting lists. If I didn’t have unchecked items then I wouldn’t feel as though I pushed myself as hard as I should have. It’s good to strive to higher grounds while understanding that life happens. The ebb and flow of life and the way we work with those changes is a big part of who we are.
When one door closes another one opens. I’m excited to say that I was able to put the brakes on my Etsy shop a little bit and said no to orders when I just didn’t have the time. Keeping my sanity became a big goal for me over the course of the year.
I was, however, very happy to see repeat customers reaching out to me for new custom orders. My slow and steady growth of that shop helped me find amazing clients who were wonderful to work with and I’m happy to create those one of a kind pieces they enjoy. Thank all of you for your patience during the transition phase!
I was also able to launch my new website and began growing my creative marketing business. I reached out and networked in the community to get my first clients under the new business name.
With my planner in hand I’ve already begun booking for 2017 and am lining up multiple networking opportunities along the way. I love meeting other creative and like-minded people in the community and online so feel free to reach out and say hi.
I believe 2017 is going to a big year. A lot of late nights might be in store but at the end of the day the accomplishments that I make are all worth it. I love what I do and it never feels like work. The best part for me is being able to work for myself and create my own schedule so I can be a big part of my children’s lives. They’re only young once so I need to embrace all of the hugs, tickles and even the crayon smears on my desk.
For anyone looking to rebrand themselves in 2017 or looking for graphic design work stay tuned, I’ll have a special incentive coming to Instagram and Facebook on the first of the year!
Here’s to an amazing 2017!
